PhD candidate in Theology. Interested in developing a contextual theology, in dialogue with culture and popular expressions of faith. Currently, he is pursuing a doctoral research that studies the idea of death in the “Versos por angelito”, popular poems that are sung in wakes of infants celebrated in rural Christian communities of central and southern Chile. He is affiliated to the UC Center for the Study of Religion, where he is a member of the interdisciplinary study group “Cultures, Peoples and Beliefs”, and program leader of the Diploma in Studies of Religion. His teaching is related mainly to general education courses, in which he tries to unfold a theology based on biblical, patristic and magisterial sources, but without avoiding the questions and perspectives that arise from contemporary culture. He enjoys contemporary cinema and artistic expressions in general, especially if they have a link with the traditional culture of the country and the Christian faith, as well as outdoor sports (hiking, jogging, cycling).
