Professor Heriberto Cabrera Reyes is a Salesian priest who studied philosophy and basic pedagogy in Chile, while he began his theology studies in the Democratic Republic of Congo and finished them in Italy (UPS). He immediately went to specialize in Pastoral and Catechesis in Belgium (Lumen Vitae and Lovainas). After an intense ministry with youth and street children in Madagascar, he resumed his studies and obtained a scholarship to do a doctorate in Practical Theology in Canada (Laval University). After 29 years of mission, Heriberto joined our faculty in 2021 as an adjunct professor and this year as a professor on the special teaching staff.

Heriberto has always maintained an intense pastoral ministry among young people, trying to harmonize this mission with the demands of academic work. It should be noted that he has also collaborated in the formation of priests, religious and permanent deacons.

The last country where he carried out his ministry was the Republic of Mauritius, where he was the episcopal delegate for youth ministry.

A nature lover, he has worked in several ecological micro-projects and in awakening young people to the contemplation of nature. As a BSAC sports diving instructor, he has been able to combine a passion with a sensitivity towards the created, sharing this once again with many young people.
