Fredy Parra

Freddy Parra is a layman theologist born in Concepción, Chile in 1957. He studied primary and secondary education at the Colegio Salesianos school in Concepción. He married Constanza Bulacio in 1986 and is the father of three: Sofía, Santiago, and Bethania. He studied philosophy at the University of Chile, Theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and the Faculdade Jesuíta de Filosofia e Teologia in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

A tenured lecturer from the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile since 2013. He has been Vice-Dean between 2004-2010 and 2011-2012; and dean between 2013 and 2015 in the same Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Currently, he is the Director of the Manuel Larraín Theological Center (CTML).

He works in the area of systematic theology in the undergraduate programs for Creation and eschatology, and Latin American Theology. He has taught courses and seminars on several topics related to creation, ecology, eschatology, and Latin American theological thinking.
