Juan Pablo Espinosa

Juan Pablo Espinosa Arce is a layman. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Catholic University of Maule where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and the title of Professor of Religion and Philosophy being highlighted as the best student of his promotion in the 2013-2014 degree. He entered the Faculty of Theology at the Catholic University of Chile in 2015 when he began his studies for a Master’s degree in Theology from which he graduated in 2017. He then began his Doctorate in Theology at the same Faculty graduating in 2024.

He has completed specialization courses graduating in University Teaching (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) and in Contemporary Theology (Universidad Alberto Hurtado). He has also studied courses in spiritual accompaniment with the Jesuits in Chile and courses in psychoanalysis and spirituality at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

He is a regular contributor with columns in portals and magazines in Chile, Latin America and Europe such as Revista Mensaje, Cristianisme i Justicia, Reflexión y Liberación and Amerindia. He combines his university academic activity with theological formation in ecclesial and pastoral spaces in the Diocese of Rancagua where he is originally from.

He is a member of the Chilean Society of Theology, the Manuel Larraín Theological Center and the network of BEHEMOT studies.
